Baton Rouge Member Application

ELIGIBILITY

To qualify for membership in the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, applicants must be of established professional standing in the field of public relations or a related field. Memberships are based on the current calendar year, are on an individual basis and are not transferrable to another individual.

DUES

Annual membership dues for PRAL are:

  • $25 Student | Available to full-time students studying at a college or university in the Greater Baton Rouge area
  • $40 Post Graduate Professionals | Available to recent graduates starting their careers in public relations or related field in the Greater Baton Rouge Area.
  • $80 Professional | Available to individuals practicing public relations or related field in the Greater Baton Rouge area
  • $300 Premier Professional | Includes Professional membership as well as the cost of all monthly luncheons

There are two steps to complete your application.

First, please complete the electronic form below in its entirety. 

Second, after completing the form, please submit your payment.

Once your application has been submitted and dues received, your application will be reviewed for approval by PRAL-BR's president and PRAL-BR's Membership Chair. You should receive confirmation of approval within a week of submission. If you have questions or have not received confirmation within this time frame, please email the Membership chair at [email protected].

The Baton Rouge Chapter offers three types of membership. Student Membership is available to full-time students studying at a college or university in the greater Baton Rouge area; dues are $25 annually. Student memberships run from September through August each year.

Professional Membership is available to individuals practicing public relations in the greater Baton Rouge area; dues are $80 annually. Memberships run in conjunction with the calendar year. All dues must be paid no later than January 31 of each year.

Premier Professional Membership runs $300 annually and includes Professional Membership as well as all monthly luncheon costs. Memberships run in conjunction with the calendar year. All dues must be paid no later than January 31 of each year.

The Post Graduate Professional membership is available to recent graduates starting their careers in PR and is $40 annually.

I understand that PRAL dues are paid annually by January 1. After January 31, unpaid membership dues are considered delinquent and a reapplication for membership may be necessary. I understand that my applications will not be considered without accompanying membership payment, which will be refunded promptly should my application not be accepted.

When this application is accepted, I agree to abide by the organization’s by-laws and procedures. I further agree to be personally responsible for all dues and other charges incurred or levied by PRAL in connection with this membership.

When both the form and payment are received, your application is considered complete and ready for consideration. Board members vote to approve applicants once per month. Applicants will be notified by email upon acceptance into PRAL-BR.
